Alejandro Garnacho previously played for Getafe FC in Spain. He was later signed by Atletico Madrid, where he spent 5 years before joining Manchester United. There, he aims to secure first-team opportunities, as the club has a reputation for promoting talents from their academy, like Rashford and Lingard.

 Garnacho has represented both the Argentina and Spanish youth national teams before making his senior international debut for Argentina, fulfilling his dream of playing alongside his idol and Argentina’s greatest player of all time Lionel Messi.

 This achievement contributed to United's first Cup win since 2011. At the age of 17, Garnacho made his debut in the first team, realizing his dream of playing alongside his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Alejandro Garnacho garnered significant attention from football enthusiasts for his exceptional displays in the youth team. This placed pressure on him to consistently deliver top-notch performances to meet the high expectations set by fans before his promotion to the first team.

Subsequently, he made his senior debut after warming the bench for several Premier League matches. His first-team debut came against Chelsea, during which he entered the game late under the management of current Austrian coach, Ralf Rangnick. 


Garnacho replaced the emerging talent Anthony Elanga, who is currently competing for Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.


Alejandro Garnacho did not feature in multiple games under the guidance of Manchester United's current manager, Erik Ten Hag.

Fans expressed concern over his absence until he finally received his first start against Sheriff Tiraspol in the UEFA Europa League on 27 October 2022. The match concluded with a 3-0 victory for Manchester United, prompting Manager Erik ten Hag to commend Garnacho for his recent progress. Ten Hag attributed Garnacho's lack of earlier opportunities to his behavior and attitude.

His first goal was scored in the Europa League against Real Sociedad with an assist from his idol Cristiano Ronaldo, the all-time leading goal scorer in football history.

Following this achievement, he imitated Ronaldo's celebration after scoring his first senior and European goals. Garnacho then scored his inaugural goal in the Premier League on 13 November during Fergie's time, playing against Fulham.


In a memorable cameo appearance against Manchester City in the Manchester Derby, he assisted Marcus Rashford in securing a 2-1 victory with a winning goal. Despite sustaining an injury, Garnacho received recognition for his outstanding performance.

 On 28 April 2023, Garnacho signed a contract extension until 30 June 2028. After returning from a two-month injury on 13 May 2023, he made a swift impact by scoring the second goal in a 2-0 triumph over Wolves.

On November 26, Argentine player Garnacho made headlines by scoring a bicycle-kick from 15 yards to open the scoring in a 3–0 victory over Everton. This marked his first Premier League goal of the 2023/2024 season and earned him the Premier League Goal of the Month for November 2023.

Just three days later, on November 29, he netted his inaugural Champions League goal in a 3–3 draw against Galatasaray, showcasing his ability to score in major European competitions.

Then, on December 26, he scored twice in a remarkable 3–2 comeback win against Aston Villa, where the team recovered from a 2-0 deficit. This outstanding performance not only earned him the Man of the Match award but also solidified his position as the team's top right winger, displacing Antony.


Garnacho's consistent impressive displays, combined with his strong chemistry with Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hoijlund, will likely make it challenging for Antony to reclaim his spot in the starting lineup.
